Software Engineer (iOS, Level 5)

Join Snap Inc. as a Level 5 Software Engineer (iOS) and be part of a team that creates and refines high-performance mobile apps. You will design, architect, and implement well-tested Objective-C software, conceptualize and launch new features, and evaluate technical tradeoffs. You will also work closely with the Design team and carry out code reviews to ensure code quality. - Knowledge of the OS internals, compilers, optimization for low-power and mobile systems
- Proven understanding of Objective-C Runtime and processes which run “under the hood”
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
- Strong CS fundamentals (algorithms and data structures) and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in, or a strong aptitude for, leveraging AI tools to streamline development, paired with the critical judgment to audit generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks
- Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to remain at the forefront of engineering trends and modern development practices
- Experience with iOS application development
- Proficiency with multithreading and performance optimization techniques for iOS
- 6+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or Master’s degree in a technical field + 5+ year of post-grad software development experience; or PhD in a relevant technical field +2+ years of post-grad software development experience
- Knowledge of software design patterns and iOS best practices
- Experience with Objective-C and iOS
- Experience with Swift
- Experience with C/C++
- Experience with OpenGL or Metal
