We’re working with a growing digital business in the automotive technology space to find a talented Senior Backend Engineer who can help shape and scale its technology platform.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team, work on complex technical challenges, and make a real impact on customer-facing digital experiences.

The Role:

You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable backend services. Working closely with Product, Design, and commercial teams, you’ll translate business requirements into robust technical solutions while helping drive continuous improvement across the engineering function.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services.

• Translate complex business requirements into technical designs and architectural solutions.

• Identify and introduce tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve development practices.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-quality digital products and customer experiences.

• Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

• Champion Agile best practices and identify opportunities to improve team processes.

• Provide technical leadership, share expertise, and mentor developing engineering talent.

What They're Looking For:

• Strong experience designing and building scalable backend services, primarily using Python.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

• Solid understanding of databases, object-oriented design, data structures, distributed systems, and SOLID principles.

• The ability to turn complex technical challenges into practical, maintainable solutions.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• An interest in technical leadership, mentoring, and contributing to a positive engineering culture.
