Staff Software Engineer (iOS Platform)

Join Airbnb as a Staff Software Engineer on the iOS Platform team. You'll be responsible for driving projects that improve AI agents' effectiveness across the software development workflow, collaborating with team members and cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for improving developer productivity. You'll also improve existing frameworks and tooling to deliver on our ambitious vision. The role requires 9+ years of industry experience in software development, iOS development experience in Swift, and the ability to travel to the San Francisco office for about a week each quarter.

- Experience building reliable developer tooling in Go
- Experience identifying and addressing inefficiencies in AI agent workflows to improve execution time, token efficiency, reliability, and quality
- Experience working with Ruby and maintaining or improving existing tooling
- Experience leveraging Agentic AI to improve software development workflows and drive large scale migrations
- 9+ years of industry experience in software development
- IOS development experience in Swift, including building applications, libraries, and frameworks
- Ability to travel to the San Francisco office for about a week each quarter for gatherings
- [Nice to have] Experience designing and developing build systems (e.g. Bazel)
- Experience working in medium- to large-scale codebases
