Job Purpose and Core Tasks
The Software Cloud Manager is a senior leadership-role within the cloud development organization, combining deep hands-on technical expertise with end-to-end ownership of global cloud delivery. This role is responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable, secure cloud solutions that underpin medical and non-medical digital products across mobile and web platforms, used by customers globally. With significant experience in cloud software engineering, the Software Cloud Manager leads a distributed team across Israel and Singapore, directly managing engineers and driving cross-functional initiatives that span product, architecture, operations, and quality. The role is accountable for setting technical direction, achieving delivery and reliability KPIs, and ensuring that cloud platforms can scale with business growth.
Global team leadership:
- Lead and develop a global engineering team located in Singapore and Israel, providing clear technical direction, coaching and performance management.
- Build team capability through mentoring, structured feedback and talent development, ensuring succession and technical depth in critical cloud areas.
Architecture and technical ownership
- Own architecture and design decisions for cloud capabilities across mobile and web, including APIs, dataflows, security, observability and deployment pipelines.
- Ensure operational excellence across cloud environments, including monitoring, alerting, reliability, capacity management and incident response.
- Evaluate and adopt cloud services (GCP, AWS or Azure) to balance cost, performance and reliability, and ensure designs meet regulatory and security requirements.
Execution and delivery accountability
- Lead cloud development planning, prioritization and execution, translating product and business priorities into a clear backlog and delivery roadmap.
- Take ownership for high quality, on time delivery of features and foundational cloud capabilities, using modern engineering practices (CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews).
Operational excellence and reliability
- Ensure operational excellence across cloud environments, including monitoring, alerting, reliability, capacity management and incident response.
- Define and track SLOs/SLAs for key services, lead post incident reviews, and drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve user experience.
Cross functional leadership
- Partner with Product Management, DataOps, QA, Security and other stakeholders to align cloud development with product roadmap and business outcomes.
- Represent the cloud team in cross functional forums, communicate trade-offs and risks clearly, and ensure stakeholders have transparency on progress and constraints.
Technical contributor
- Contribute directly to complex technical tasks where needed (e.g. critical design, performance investigations, major refactors), while maintaining a strong focus on enabling the team.
- Read and interpret complex technical documentation, troubleshoot end to end issues across stack layers, and provide practical solutions.
- All other responsibilities as directed
