Our IT Systems & Infrastructure team has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and strategic Linux Engineering Expert to support and lead our multi-region enterprise environments and data center operations.
This pivotal role will see you act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Senior Technical Lead, taking responsibility for the architectural design, automated deployment, and continuous lifecycle management of high-availability Linux infrastructures (RHEL / SUSE) across global production environments.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting to the Infrastructure & Engineering Lead, you will oversee the full lifecycle of enterprise systems, designing and deploying scalable, secure, and resilient IT architectures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecture & Engineering: Design and implement robust IT architectures and multi-data center hybrid environments tailored for enterprise-scale logistics operations.
- Automation & CI/CD Pipelines: Lead and maintain automated provisioning pipelines for massive virtual machine deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Git, and AWX.
- System Operations & Lifecycle Management: Supervise the lifecycle of Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux & SUSE), ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and operational continuity.
- Technical Leadership & Incident Management: Serve as a top-tier technical reference point for complex incident resolution and problem management, mentoring engineering team members and driving technical excellence.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Communicate complex technology concepts effectively to both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application, you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience:
- 7+ years acting as a Senior Technical Lead or SME in IT infrastructure design and architecture.
- 5+ years of enterprise-scale engineering and operations with Linux (RHEL or SUSE) in production environments.
- Proven track record in automated provisioning pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD methodologies (Ansible, Terraform, Git, AWX, Jenkins, Spacewalk).
- Demonstrated background in multi-region, multi-data center, or multinational corporate environments.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Official Red Hat or SUSE Linux certifications are highly preferred.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and stress management in high-pressure production environments.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills for global stakeholder interaction.
- Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) is a strong plus.
