Senior Infrastructure / Platform Engineer
11-Month Contract | Dublin | Hybrid | Up to €118,500
Recruiters are working with a leading technology organisation seeking experienced Infrastructure and Platform Engineers to join two engineering teams focused on Kubernetes platform engineering and modernising business-critical infrastructure services.
These roles offer the opportunity to work on large-scale production environments, cloud infrastructure, automation and infrastructure modernisation across hybrid and public cloud platforms.
The Opportunity
We are recruiting across two teams:
Kubernetes Platform Engineering
- Engineer and support enterprise Kubernetes platforms across on-premise VMware and public cloud environments.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters, upgrades, Linux infrastructure, security remediation and platform reliability.
- Develop automation and Infrastructure-as-Code to improve scalability and operational efficiency.
- Enable internal engineering teams to deploy and orchestrate containerised applications.
Core Services Infrastructure
- Modernise business-critical infrastructure services, including DNS, LDAP, TCP/IP networking and virtualisation.
- Support migration of traditional infrastructure services into cloud-native environments.
- Engineer solutions for highly available production services, with a focus on minimising disruption during modernisation.
- Apply automation and software engineering practices to infrastructure delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and support production infrastructure across Linux, Kubernetes and public cloud environments.
- Build and maintain automation using Terraform, scripting and configuration management tools.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and platform issues, identifying root causes and implementing lasting solutions.
- Support infrastructure migration and modernisation initiatives across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, security and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with engineering, networking, security and application teams.
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows and infrastructure delivery using an automation-first approach.
Required Experience
- Strong professional experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, DevOps or SRE.
- Hands-on production experience with Linux environments.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes, including cluster administration, troubleshooting and platform engineering.
- Experience with Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure-as-Code tooling.
- Public cloud experience across AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Strong understanding of networking, infrastructure dependencies and production service availability.
- Scripting or programming experience using Python, Bash, Go or similar.
- Experience supporting complex production environments and resolving technical incidents.
Desirable Experience
- Kubernetes architecture, cluster upgrades, operators or custom controllers.
- Docker and container ecosystem technologies.
- VMware and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- DNS, LDAP, DHCP or other core infrastructure services.
- Infrastructure migration from on-premise environments to public cloud.
- CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Ansible, Crossplane or cloud-native automation frameworks.
Contract Details
- Location: Dublin
- Working Model: Hybrid, onsite Monday and Tuesday
- Duration: 11 months
- Rate: Up to €118,500
- Openings: 5 positions across two engineering teams
