Develop, maintain, and enhance primarily backend applications and services using C#/.NET and SQL Server
Troubleshoot production issues across application code, databases, authentication, configuration, logging, integrations, and deployment environments
Work with modern and legacy .NET systems and make safe, focused improvements
Contribute to incremental modernization of legacy systems, including authentication, deployment, observability, and operational improvements
Work across services, databases, integrations, and support-facing applications when problems cross system boundaries
Create and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and investigation notes
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, IT, Help Desk, Customer Success, and other teams to resolve technical issues
Use AI-assisted engineering tools for development, code analysis, testing, debugging, and documentation, while evaluating AI-generated output before production use
Requirements:
Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET application development
Strong SQL Server skills, including stored procedures and data-driven troubleshooting
Experience developing and troubleshooting backend applications, services, and integrations
Ability to understand unfamiliar or legacy code and make safe, focused changes
Experience diagnosing production issues using application logs, database analysis, and other operational data
Experience with AI development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor
Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts such as OIDC, claims, roles, and sessions, or platforms such as Okta
Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and software deployment practices
Experience using AI-assisted development tools or strong willingness to incorporate them into day-to-day engineering workflows
Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical partners
Nice to have: Experience with VB.NET, IIS, Windows services, Vue/TypeScript, and AWS services
