About FT Technologies
FT Technologies (FTT) builds cloud-based payment software for acquirers operating within the PCI ecosystem. We're a lean, fast-moving team of roughly 40 people supporting clients across the Americas, with a strong engineering and client-services culture built over nearly two decades in the payments industry.
The Opportunity
FTT is growing its Development team and hiring an entry-level Development Analyst to work on the backend services, APIs, and third-party integrations that power FTT's payment platform. This is a hands-on, technical role for someone early in their career who is comfortable working close to production systems and the practical realities of building software that has to be secure, reliable, and maintainable — not just a classroom or bootcamp portfolio project.
You'll work directly with senior developers on real integrations with banks, processors, and other payment partners, learning FTT's platform and the payments domain hands-on.
What You'll Do
• Build and maintain REST APIs and Windows services in .NET / C#, including asynchronous code (async/await) and long-running processes.
• Write and optimize SQL Server queries and stored procedures, with an eye toward indexing and performance.
• Integrate with third-party services and payment partners: implement authentication (OAuth2, API keys, mTLS), timeouts, retries, idempotency, and sound handling of ambiguous responses.
• Design APIs with a mobile consumer in mind — versioning, payload design, behavior under unstable network conditions, and keeping contracts stable.
• Apply secure coding practices: secrets management, encryption in transit and at rest, and strict awareness that cardholder data is never logged or persisted.
• Test and debug against partner sandboxes and environments you don't fully control, diagnosing issues methodically.
• Work in Git with a branching workflow, and build a working understanding of CI/CD.
What We're Looking For
• .NET / C# experience building REST APIs and Windows services, including async/await and long-running processes.
• Working SQL Server skills: queries, stored procedures, and a basic grasp of indexing and performance.
• Experience integrating with third-party services: authentication (OAuth2, API keys, mTLS), timeouts, retries, idempotency, and judgment for handling an ambiguous response.
• Some exposure to API design for mobile consumers — versioning, payloads, behavior on unreliable networks, and stable contracts.
• Technical English at B2+ level, written and reading; conversational English a plus.
• Git experience with branching workflows, and basic familiarity with CI/CD concepts.
• A security-conscious mindset: secrets handling, encryption in transit and at rest, and awareness of what cardholder data can and cannot be logged or stored.
• Comfortable testing and debugging against partner sandboxes and environments outside your control.
Nice to Have
• Kotlin / Android: able to read and modify existing code; familiarity with Jetpack Compose and SDK integration.
• .NET desktop applications (WinForms) and deployment on Windows Server / IIS.
• Familiarity with the payments domain — the lifecycle of a transaction: authorization, capture, reversal, reconciliation.
• Agile experience working with Jira.
