This is a hands-on role focused primarily on data engineering, ETL, cloud data pipelines, SQL, data modelling, and BI/reporting. You will build the data foundations that enable cybersecurity teams and technology leaders to understand security performance, compliance, and overall security posture.

We are looking for a Data & Analytics Engineer to join a global Cyber Defense organization and build its data and reporting capabilities from the ground up.
Description
- Design, build, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, including REST APIs.
- Extract, transform, normalize, and prepare data for analytics and reporting.
- Work with SQL, relational databases, data lakes, and cloud storage.
- Design analytics-ready data models, including fact/dimension tables and star schemas.
- Build and maintain Power BI, Tableau, or similar dashboards and reports.
- Translate business and security requirements into meaningful metrics, datasets, and visualizations.
- Automate manual and ad-hoc reporting processes.
- Partner with cybersecurity, engineering, and architecture teams to develop new data solutions.
- Communicate data-driven insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Help establish data engineering and reporting standards for a newly developing cybersecurity analytics capability.
Profile
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, BI Engineering, Data Analytics, Reporting, or a related field.
- Strong SQL and practical experience with relational databases.
- Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
- Experience working with REST APIs and integrating data from multiple systems.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud-based data pipelines.
- Practical experience with cloud storage, data lakes, databases, or similar data services.
- Experience building dashboards and management reporting using Power BI, Tableau, or a similar BI platform.
- Understanding of data modelling for analytics and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and build solutions in an environment where processes and infrastructure are still being established.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in cybersecurity, cyber defense, or security operations.
- Experience with platforms such as CrowdStrike, Microsoft security/M365, Palo Alto Networks, Splunk, Proofpoint, or ServiceNow.
- AWS experience, particularly S3, Glue, and Athena.
- Advanced Power BI knowledge, including DirectQuery, Composite Models, RLS, or OLS.
- Python for data engineering, automation, or API integrations.
- Terraform / CloudFormation or other Infrastructure as Code technologies.
- CI/CD experience, such as GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of secrets management, data lineage, audit logging, or data governance.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering, or a related field.
