We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Centre Engineer to support our 24/7data center operations. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting andmaintaining network systems to ensure high availability and optimalperformance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor alerts and events, escalating issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Troubleshoot and monitor network activity to identify and resolve faults.
- Isolate and diagnose issues, escalating to higher-level support or vendors as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to address network and system issues.
- Proactively monitor data center network systems and connectivity to prevent downtime, coordinating resolution with vendors or second-level support teams.
- Log and submit problem management records, assigning tasks to the appropriate parties in accordance with guidelines.
- Ensure strict adherence to physical security procedures.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and configuration of network switches and devices.
- Understand customer issues while maintaining trust and managing expectations.
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or PRTG.
- Knowledge of network devices and basic network troubleshooting.
- CCNA certification is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Excel functions include macros and pivot tables.
- Experience or knowledge of data center operations is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
