About the Opportunity:
The ANSIBLE AUTOMATION & RELEASE ENGINEER role involves designing, developing, and refining automation solutions with Ansible to enhance configuration, deployment, and operations processes. This position oversees build, deployment, and release activities within complex IT infrastructures, supporting Microsoft and Linux systems, while ensuring the quality and stability of automation workflows. The engineer contributes to operational efficiency and reliability through automation and collaboration across infrastructure, operations, development, and project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and enhance automation solutions based on Ansible
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and reusable automation components
- Plan, coordinate, and execute build, deployment, and release processes in complex IT environments
- Automate and standardize deployment, configuration, and operations for Microsoft and Linux systems
- Develop and optimize standardized, reproducible deployment and rollback processes
- Utilize PowerShell for automation in Microsoft infrastructure components
- Administer and integrate Microsoft infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, IAM, SQL Server, SharePoint, and Exchange
- Support administration and integration of Linux systems and VMware-based virtual platforms
- Analyze, refactor, and improve existing scripts and automation solutions for maintainability and quality
- Troubleshoot issues within automated build, deployment, configuration, and release processes
- Coordinate and assure quality of releases with infrastructure, operations, development, and project teams
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operating instructions, and automation and release documents
- Manage requirements, user stories, and tickets in Jira and document knowledge in Confluence
Requirements:
- Practical experience with Ansible automation for configuration, deployment, and operations
- Strong skills in developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks and roles
- Experience with Infrastructure/Configuration as Code and IT infrastructure standardization
- Solid background in build, deployment, and release management
- Proficiency in PowerShell for automating Microsoft-based infrastructure
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux systems
- Experience with VMware virtualization environments
- Understanding of release, change, and configuration management processes
- Expertise in troubleshooting and optimizing automation solutions
- Structured, independent, and quality-focused work approach
- Experience with Jira and Confluence, especially in public sector IT projects
- Native or C1-level German language skills
- B1-level English proficiency
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
