Principal OpenShift Networking Architect
We are seeking an experienced Principal OpenShift Networking Architect to lead the design and development of networking architecture across container and virtualisation platforms. This is a hands-on architecture role focused on Kubernetes networking, segmentation, connectivity and modern software-defined networking.
Key Responsibilities
- Define future-state networking and segmentation architectures across OpenShift container and VM workloads
- Lead the transition from legacy virtualisation-based security models to OpenShift-native networking and security controls
- Design scalable approaches to network isolation, micro-segmentation and multi-tenancy
- Assess and recommend modern Kubernetes networking and CNI technologies
- Provide technical direction to engineering and implementation teams
- Produce HLDs, LLDs, standards and reference architectures
- Establish networking and security design governance across the platform
Key Skills
- 10+ years' enterprise networking/infrastructure experience
- 5+ years' hands-on Kubernetes networking experience
- Strong enterprise OpenShift networking experience
- Expert knowledge of OVN-Kubernetes and Kubernetes networking concepts
- Strong experience with Network Policies, Services, Ingress, Egress and Multus
- Experience with OpenShift Virtualisation/KubeVirt networking
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes micro-segmentation and multi-tenancy
- Experience migrating legacy firewall/segmentation models into Kubernetes-native architectures
- Knowledge of Cilium, Calico or equivalent modern CNI platforms
- Experience designing Zero Trust networking architectures
- Strong technical leadership and stakeholder management skills
- OpenShift/Kubernetes networking certifications advantageous
