About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at Real Soft. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and ingestion frameworks that support mission-critical operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data architecture, proficiency in modern programming languages, and hands-on experience with cloud-based data solutions. As a Data Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless flow of data, troubleshoot pipeline issues, and optimize system performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects within a secure environment, contributing to initiatives that have a meaningful impact on national security and enterprise data management.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required; a current U.S. Government Security Clearance is not necessary at the start but candidates should be "clearable".
- Minimum of 14+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related technical fields. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Strong expertise in designing and building ETL pipelines and data ingestion frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, Apache NiFi, and AWS services such as S3 and SQS.
- Proficiency in Java and/or Python, with demonstrated experience in unit and integration testing.
- Solid understanding of data formats including JSON, XML, SQL schemas, and compressed formats.
- Experience with containerized deployments using Kubernetes, Docker, or similar technologies.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot data pipelines, system performance issues, and dataflow challenges.
- DoD 8570 IAT II certification or higher is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable ETL pipelines to support various data processing needs.
- Implement and optimize data ingestion frameworks utilizing Kafka, NiFi, and cloud services.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and system engineers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, system performance, and data integrity.
- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant standards and policies.
- Automate deployment and management of data systems using containerization tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Document technical processes, data models, and system configurations clearly and accurately.
- Mentor junior team members and develop training materials to foster team growth and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in Agile development cycles, providing technical expertise and contributing to sprint planning and reviews.
