About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and managing secure multi-cloud infrastructures that support our clients' complex operational needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with extensive experience across multiple cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical projects, leveraging modern DevOps practices and tools to enhance security, scalability, and efficiency. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, implement security best practices, and develop automation solutions that optimize cloud operations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education, experience, and certifications, including:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience of 4+ years in IT roles.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cloud computing, with hands-on expertise in designing, deploying, and managing solutions across one or more major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation (AWS), ARM Templates, and Bicep (Azure).
- Experience working with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git, and automation scripting in PowerShell, Python, Bash, YAML, or JSON.
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices, compliance standards, and multi-cloud security services.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, SSCP) or the ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Responsibilities
The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for a broad range of technical and strategic tasks, including but not limited to:
- Supporting and managing multi-cloud services and infrastructure across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate deployments and configurations.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues within complex multi-cloud environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Implementing and maintaining cloud security measures, including configuring network security groups, application gateways, and other controls to safeguard cloud resources.
- Leveraging cloud-native security, logging, and compliance tools to ensure robust security posture and adherence to standards.
- Developing automation scripts and workflows using PowerShell, Python, or CLI to streamline cloud operations and improve efficiency.
- Managing compute, storage, networking, and database services across multiple cloud providers, ensuring optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand technical requirements, develop solutions, and implement best practices in cloud architecture and security.
- Participating in security assessments, audits, and compliance activities to meet federal and organizational standards.
