Applications Engineer

Join Silvus, a leading technology company, as an Applications Engineer-I. In this role, you will conduct a wide range of technical activities related to applications/solutions engineering and customer and sales support. You will work closely with customers and the Sales team to drive product development and enable the development of cutting-edge systems and technologies. This position requires up to 25% travel, both domestic and international.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts

- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent degree in relevant STEM field)

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
- Proficiency with PC office applications and mobile devices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must to effectively communicate with customers and internally across the entire organization
- All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test
- Must possess an ability to work independently, take initiative, multitask, and effectively interact with cross-functional teams and customers
- Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing
- Willingness to travel and work at customer sites
- WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of wireless communication systems, radio frequency signal propagation, and digital communication technologies
- Proficiency with instruments such as spectrum analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, and other radio frequency and data network test equipment and testing
- Experience with testing embedded radio communication systems
- Familiarity with Linux
- Proficiency with programming languages such as Python or C/C++
- Experience with operating and testing IP radios/modems
- Proficiency with TCP/IP protocol and networking
