We are looking to hire a Senior Control Engineer to join our growing internal engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automation professional to take technical ownership of projects, work directly with customers and suppliers and support and mentor engineers across the team.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA configuration, system testing and commissioning, ideally gained within a manufacturing, food & beverage, water/wastewater, pharmaceutical or medical device environment.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with customers and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC programmes.
- Configure and develop HMI/SCADA systems.
- Configure Historian systems and generate reports where required.
- Carry out system testing, commissioning and qualification activities.
- Prepare, review and maintain validation documentation.
- Manage the purchasing of materials and equipment required for projects.
- Work in accordance with company Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and Work Instructions (WIs).
- Conduct and support internal quality audits.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentorship within the engineering team.
- Share technical knowledge and support the ongoing development of colleagues.
- Take technical ownership of assigned projects and ensure deliverables are completed to the required standard.
- Support project planning, coordination and delivery as required.
- Act as a technical lead on assigned projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship across the engineering team.
- Typically responsible for the technical delivery of one project at a time, allowing for a strong focus on project ownership and delivery.
- Work closely with customers, suppliers, project managers and internal engineering teams.
- Travel to customer sites for testing, commissioning and qualification activities where required.
Skills & Qualifications:
Essential
- Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation or Science, or a related discipline or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years' experience in industrial automation, ideally within one or more of the following sectors: Food & Beverage, Water & Wastewater, Pharmaceutical, Medical device and Manufacturing.
- Practical experience with PLC systems and programming.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems.
- Experience in system testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
Desirable
- Project Management experience an advantage
