About the role
We are looking for an EI&C / Automation Software Engineer who will be responsible for developing, integrating and maintaining software solutions used in manufacturing and automation environments.
The role combines software development, industrial automation, IT/OT integration and system support. You will work with systems such as DCS, MES, data historians and databases, ensuring reliable data exchange and smooth operation of manufacturing applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop, configure and maintain software applications supporting manufacturing and automation processes
- Design and implement integrations between DCS, MES, historians, databases and other manufacturing systems
- Develop solutions using C#, SQL, PowerShell and VBA
- Support interfaces and data exchange between IT and OT environments
- Troubleshoot software and system issues and perform root cause analysis
- Test, commission, qualify and deploy software solutions
- Maintain and improve existing applications to increase reliability, performance and usability
- Prepare technical, functional and software design documentation in accordance with GMP/GxP and company standards
- Support software validation, change management and version control activities
- Ensure compliance with data integrity and cybersecurity requirements
- Work closely with Automation, Manufacturing, Validation, Quality and IT teams throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements – Must Have
- University degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field
- Strong IT background with knowledge of software development, databases, networking and system integration
- Professional experience with automation or manufacturing systems, such as DCS, MES or data historian platforms
- Good knowledge of C#, SQL, PowerShell and/or VBA
- Experience with software lifecycle management and application support
- Previous experience working in a GMP/GxP-regulated environment
- Experience creating technical and GxP-compliant documentation
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Fluent English and/or German
Nice to Have
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences manufacturing
- Knowledge of DeltaV, Syncade, PI System or similar industrial platforms
- Experience with software validation, CSV/CSA methodologies and data integrity
- Understanding of OT infrastructure and cybersecurity
- Experience with Git or other version control systems

Role in simple terms
This is a software-focused automation role. You will act as a bridge between IT and industrial automation, developing and supporting applications that communicate with manufacturing systems such as DCS and MES.
