Role Description The Kotlin Developer will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and applications using Kotlin, focusing on clean, efficient, and scalable code. Responsibilities include implementing new features, fixing bugs, writing unit and integration tests, and optimizing performance for existing systems. The role involves collaborating with product managers, designers, and other developers to translate requirements into technical solutions, participating in code reviews, and contributing to architecture decisions. The developer will also help document technical designs, support deployment processes, and ensure best practices in security and reliability are followed. This is a full-time remote role, requiring consistent communication, reliable availability, and proactive participation in a distributed team.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development using Kotlin or similar JVM languages, including RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with emphasis on writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Familiarity with modern development tools and ecosystems (e.g., Gradle/Maven, Git, CI/CD pipelines, unit testing frameworks).
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases and building data-access layers.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
