About the Opportunity:

The DATA ENGINEER role is focused on designing and maintaining data pipelines within the central data infrastructure to support analytics, statistical analysis, model training, and dashboarding. This position directly contributes to the organization's ability to transform raw IoT and product data into reliable, high-quality data models essential for various data-driven functions, thereby enhancing operational insights and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain reliable computed data tables integrating diverse sources including sensor data, unstructured video and audio, and customer metadata.
• Access, manipulate, and integrate external data sets with internal data.
• Ensure high data quality with strong uptime and reliability, including for customer-facing datasets.
• Collaborate with Data Science, AI/ML, and other Data Engineers to support causal inference, model training, and visualization needs.
• Promote and embody core cultural principles related to customer success, long-term building, growth mindset, inclusivity, and teamwork.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in data engineering roles.
• Experience designing scalable data models.
• Skilled in building ETL pipelines for large data volumes.
• Proficiency with Spark-based data platforms.
• Strong knowledge of data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
• Expertise in SQL, Python, and REST API usage.
• Familiarity with software engineering basics and backend code.
• Experience with version control systems like Git/GitHub.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of time series and late-arriving data.
• Experience with Databricks, Delta Lakes, Dagster.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Exposure to first-party data models and complex data including ML outputs.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Annual base salary range: $99,365 to $167,000 USD.
• Eligibility for initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff and ongoing refresh opportunities based on performance.
• Total rewards include base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity participation.
