- €750 to €900 per day for Senior Golang Engineers

The Location - Dublin

The Working Pattern - Hybrid, three days per week on site

Duration - Minimum six-month contract

Digital Skills are working with a global financial services business delivering secure, high-volume payment and technology platforms. The organisation is developing cloud native services that support payment processing, fraud detection and developer platform ecosystems.

About the Role

This is an opportunity for an experienced Golang Engineer to build high throughput, low latency microservices within a large enterprise environment. You will develop scalable services, contribute to distributed system design and support the automated deployment of cloud native applications.

Both Golang Engineer and Senior Golang Engineer profiles will be considered, with the rate determined by experience and seniority.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable microservices using Golang
• Build secure services supporting payment, fraud detection and developer platform environments
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and gRPC services
• Optimise systems for high transaction volumes and low-latency performance
• Deploy and operate containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery processes
• Support infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases
• Apply secure engineering practices within an enterprise financial services environment
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring where appropriate to the level of the role

Desired Skills and Experience

• Expert-level Golang development experience
• Strong experience designing and building microservices
• Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs
• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of gRPC and distributed systems
• Experience working in cloud-native environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling, ideally Jenkins
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation or configuration tools such as Terraform, Ansible or Chef
• Experience delivering large-scale enterprise applications
• Financial services, payment processing or fraud management experience would be advantageous
• Java, Spring Boot or Python experience would be beneficial

Summary of the Best Candidate

The best candidate will be an experienced Golang Engineer with a strong background in developing high-performance microservices and distributed systems. You will have practical expertise in Golang, REST APIs, Docker and Kubernetes, alongside experience working within cloud-native enterprise environments.

Golang Engineers should have approximately 8 to 10 years of software development experience.

Senior Golang Engineers should have more than 10 years of experience and be comfortable contributing to technical architecture, project scoping and the mentoring of other engineers.

Candidates must be able to work on site in Dublin three days per week.
