About Auxilion
Auxilion is a leading Irish IT services and solutions provider, headquartered in Park West, Dublin. We work with organisations across Ireland to design, deliver, manage and secure modern technology environments.
Due to continued growth across our Cloud Services and Professional Services teams, we are looking for two experienced Senior Azure Consultants to join us on an initial 6-month contract.
The Opportunity
We are looking for experienced Azure professionals who can operate confidently in a customer-facing consulting and delivery environment.
This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to understand customer requirements, design appropriate Azure solutions and take ownership of their technical implementation.
You will work across a variety of customer environments, supporting projects covering Azure infrastructure, cloud migration, landing zones, networking, identity, security, governance, optimisation and operational readiness.
This role would suit an experienced Azure Consultant, Cloud Consultant, Azure Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Azure Architect or Senior Infrastructure Engineer who has significant hands-on Azure experience and is comfortable engaging directly with customers.
This is not purely an architecture or BAU support role.
We are looking for someone who can consult, design, build, troubleshoot and deliver.
Key ResponsibilitiesAzure Consulting & Solution Delivery
- Work directly with customers to understand business objectives, technical requirements and existing environments.
- Lead and participate in technical discovery sessions, workshops and design discussions.
- Design secure, scalable and resilient Microsoft Azure solutions aligned with customer requirements and best practice.
- Design and implement Azure landing zones, subscriptions, networking, identity and governance.
- Support cloud migration and modernisation projects from assessment and planning through to implementation, migration and post-migration validation.
- Develop technical designs, implementation plans, migration runbooks and operational documentation.
- Take ownership of technical delivery across assigned customer projects.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Architects and wider technical teams to manage technical dependencies, risks and deliverables.
Azure Engineering
- Build and configure Azure infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, backup and disaster recovery.
- Design and implement Azure networking including VNets, subnets, routing, DNS, VPN, ExpressRoute and Network Security Groups.
- Implement Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC and secure identity and access management.
- Configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerting and operational dashboards.
- Implement Azure governance and security controls using Azure Policy and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
- Troubleshoot complex Azure infrastructure, networking and connectivity issues.
- Support Azure optimisation, performance and cost management.
- Use automation and Infrastructure as Code where appropriate, including PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bicep, ARM or Terraform.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers throughout project engagements.
- Communicate technical recommendations and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships with customer IT teams and key decision makers.
- Identify and manage technical risks, issues and dependencies.
- Work collaboratively with Auxilion's cloud, infrastructure, networking, security and managed services teams.
- Ensure solutions are designed with operational support and managed service transition in mind.
- Support technical handover and knowledge transfer following project implementation.
Essential Experience
To operate successfully at this level, candidates should have:
- 7+ years' experience working within infrastructure, cloud engineering, consulting or a closely related technical discipline.
- 5+ years' strong hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure.
- Proven experience designing and implementing Azure solutions within enterprise or complex customer environments.
- Experience delivering Azure infrastructure, cloud migration or transformation projects.
- Strong practical knowledge of Azure networking, identity, security and governance.
- Experience working directly with customers in a consulting, professional services or project delivery environment.
- Experience taking technical requirements through to solution design and hands-on implementation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of technical delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience in several of the following areas would be highly advantageous:

Relevant Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500 or AZ-700 are desirable but are not a substitute for strong hands-on experience.
The Person
We are looking for someone who is:
- Senior and technically credible in Azure.
- Hands-on and comfortable getting into the detail when required.
- Confident working directly with customers and leading technical discussions.
- Able to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Comfortable operating across different customer environments and technologies.
- A strong problem solver who can work through complex technical issues.
- Capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with wider delivery teams.
- Professional, commercially aware and focused on delivering customer value.
- Strong in technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
Working Environment

Candidates must therefore be comfortable with regular onsite/customer engagement when required.
Why Auxilion?
This is an opportunity to work across a variety of real-world Azure projects and customer environments, rather than being tied to a single organisation or technology stack.
You will work alongside experienced professionals across cloud, infrastructure, networking, security and managed services, with exposure to Azure transformation, migration, infrastructure, security and optimisation projects.
If you are an experienced Azure Consultant or Cloud professional looking for a hands-on consulting opportunity with a leading Irish IT services organisation, we would be keen to hear from you.
