Field Application Software Engineer

I'm working with an innovative deep-tech company developing next-generation compute-in-memory technology for AI and other computationally intensive applications.

They’re looking for a Field Applications Software Engineer to join their growing applications team and help demonstrate the technology on real-world customer workloads.

The role

You’ll sit at the intersection of AI/ML, embedded systems, computer architecture and software, working with customers and internal engineering teams to turn complex workloads into practical solutions.

You’ll analyse AI, signal-processing and other computational workloads, implement them on the company’s technology, benchmark performance and energy efficiency, and use the results to support customer engagements and product development. You’ll also develop proofs of concept, contribute to technical workshops and help customers understand how the technology can be integrated into their products.

It’s a hands-on role with plenty of variety, combining technical problem-solving with customer interaction and cross-functional collaboration.

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years’ relevant industry or research experience, or an equivalent advanced technical background
• Strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning and AI architectures, with hands-on experience using PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Good understanding of computer architecture, SoCs or embedded software
• Ability to turn technical papers, specifications and research into practical implementations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical communication skills
• Comfortable working across disciplines and engaging directly with customers and engineering teams
• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Machine Learning, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field
