Software Engineer, Email & Communications Platform

Job Description:

• Build, test, and maintain full-stack features across the email and communications platform
• Work on email delivery systems at scale, including sending infrastructure, queue management, throttling, bounce handling, and deliverability optimization
• Build and improve APIs, background services, and data pipelines in .NET
• Develop and maintain cloud-native services in Azure, including Functions, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, SQL, and Blob Storage
• Refactor legacy code, migrate to modern patterns, and improve observability and testability
• Collaborate with product, senior engineers, and stakeholders to turn business requirements into solutions
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and incident response
• Balance feature development with improvements to reliability, maintainability, and developer experience
• Identify opportunities to retire technical debt and modernize the platform
• Partner with deliverability specialists and other engineering teams

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience
• Full-stack development experience across backend and frontend code
• Solid experience with C# / .NET for APIs, services, or backend systems
• Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience or cloud experience to deepen
• Exposure to or strong interest in high-volume email systems
• Familiarity with SPF/DKIM/DMARC, bounce management, or deliverability monitoring is a plus
• Solid SQL Server experience writing queries and working with relational databases
• Comfort reading, understanding, and improving mature codebases
• Knowledge of API design, testing practices, CI/CD, and growing interest in distributed systems
• Experience building modern frontend applications with React / Next.js
• Fluent in English and Spanish
• Ability to work effectively in onsite, remote, or hybrid environments using video conferencing and collaboration tools
• Digital marketing domain knowledge is a plus
• Exposure to message queues and event-driven systems is a plus
• Familiarity with email service providers such as SendGrid, Mailgun, or SparkPost is a plus
• Experience in a multi-tenant SaaS environment is a plus
• PostgreSQL exposure is a plus
