About The Role
The role owns the infrastructure that keeps production systems running at scale - Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, cloud networking, and the observability stack that catches failures before users do.
The team treats infrastructure as a product: versioned, tested, and continuously shipped. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering and production operations, working directly with backend teams to make deployments safer and systems more reliable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure on AWS or GCP using Terraform and Helm, treating all infrastructure as version-controlled code
- Own CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD) from commit to production, including automated testing, canary deployments, and rollback automation
- Build and tune observability systems - Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry - with actionable SLOs and alerting that reduces noise while catching real incidents
- Lead incident response and postmortems, driving root-cause analysis and permanent fixes rather than recurring band-aids
- Optimize cloud costs and performance across compute, storage, and networking; audit and right-size resources continuously
- Harden production environments: IAM policies, network segmentation, secrets management (Vault), and compliance-aligned security practices
- Partner with application teams on service reliability - capacity planning, load testing, and eliminating single points of failure
What We Are Looking For
- 3–6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering, with at least 2 years running production Kubernetes at scale
- Deep proficiency with Terraform (or equivalent IaC) and one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Go, or Bash
- Hands-on experience with container networking, service meshes (Istio, Linkerd), and distributed tracing
- Demonstrated incident management experience - leading on-call rotations, writing postmortems, and improving MTTR
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Bonus: CKA/CKS certification, experience with GitOps (ArgoCD, Flux), multi-region failover design, or FinOps/cloud cost optimization
