About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team at MANTECH. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, managing, and securing cloud infrastructure primarily on Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will play a crucial part in designing and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure systems to support our clients' mission-critical operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud services, container orchestration, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Data Engineering, and Security to ensure optimal system performance and security compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology projects in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the enhancement of enterprise-scale infrastructure and operational excellence.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of educational background and hands-on experience, including:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience working with SQL databases, demonstrating proficiency in database management, optimization, and security.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Linux or Windows system administration, with a solid understanding of operating system internals and troubleshooting.
- At least 2 years of experience working with Elasticsearch, including deployment, scaling, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration, including cluster setup, management, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of systems design, scalability, and cloud architecture best practices.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Deploy, provision, and secure AWS resources such as EC2, S3, RDS, EBS, CloudWatch, and VPC, including assisting with database sizing, management, and server security protocols.
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins to support continuous integration and deployment workflows.
- Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability and seamless development productivity across all environments.
- Conduct vulnerability scans, patch physical and cloud infrastructure, manage Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and ensure SSL/TLS certificates are current and compliant with security standards.
- Maintain and update the software architecture, focusing on secure infrastructure enhancements, system design, operational best practices, and proactive innovation to improve system resilience and performance.
- Collaborate closely with peers and clients in a fast-paced environment to optimize system performance, scalability, and security measures.
