Software Engineer (Product Backend)

Join Glean, a rapidly growing startup, as a Software Engineer (Product Backend). In this role, you will own and launch user-facing features, working closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers. You will oversee the entire process from inception to implementation, experimentation, launch, and beyond. You will architect REST APIs, write robust code, and mentor junior engineers. A BA/BS in computer science or a related degree is required, along with experience in building scalable backend systems and a desire to master Golang and Java.

- BA/BS in computer science, or related degree
- Experience of building and shipping scalable features in the backend
- Experience building distributed CRUD level functionality, ideally both SQL and NoSQL
- Love authoring easy-to-hold and future-proof REST APIs, OpenAPI is a plus
- Comfortable in or desire to master Golang and Java
- Thrive in a customer-focused, tight-knit and cross-functional environment
- Experience in building scalable & maintainable backend systems
- A proactive and positive attitude to lead, learn, troubleshoot and take ownership of both small tasks and large features
- A user-centric and empathetic mentality for building products
