We are looking for a senior Java developer to join our client's team and contribute to the development of modern, scalable back-end services. You'll be part of a collaborative team focused on clean code, agile methodologies, and delivering high-quality solutions. The client is from the investment banking industry.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring
- Implement data access using Hibernate and SQL, with attention to performance and maintainability
- Containerize and deploy applications on Kubernetes
- Provision and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Define and consume RESTful APIs, clearly communicating requirements and constraints across teams
- Translate business and product requirements into robust technical solutions
- Apply clean code principles and back-end best practices across the codebase
- Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration)
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban), including refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Perform code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and tooling
- Work closely with QA, product managers, and architects to ensure high-quality, business-aligned deliveries
- Support and improve existing applications in a fast-paced, enterprise investment-banking environment
Mandatory Skills Description:
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience as a Java developer, with a proven track record on long-term projects
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with Terraform
- Experience in automated testing of Java applications
- Clean coding skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Experience in RESTful API design
- Familiarity with agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- Good communication skills and the ability to clearly state requirements to other teams
