Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced GCP Cloud Platform Engineer to build, deploy, and manage cloud foundation platform services using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud security, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, automation, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
You will be responsible for engineering secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions while ensuring compliance with cloud security standards, operational risk requirements, and change management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and manage GCP foundation platform applications using services such as GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Build, and Cloud Run.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Config Connector.
- Implement preventive security controls to strengthen the overall cloud security posture.
- Integrate and manage common cloud services, including IAM, networking, logging, operating systems, and containers.
- Ensure compliance with cloud security policies and operational risk standards.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD and continuous testing pipelines.
- Apply DevOps and SRE practices to improve platform reliability, availability, and resilience.
- Follow established change management procedures and maintain accurate technical and operational documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience building, deploying, and managing services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong knowledge of GCP security architecture, cloud security best practices, and access management.
- Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, SRE, CI/CD, and configuration management.
- Experience with tools such as Google Cloud Build, Flux CD, and Helm.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language: Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience with cloud IAM, security compliance, auditing, monitoring, and automated security controls.
- Knowledge of container technologies, networking, firewall configuration, logging, and operating system security.
- Understanding of operational risk management, regulatory compliance, and change management.
- Excellent communication, documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Good to Have
- Hands-on expertise in GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Build, or Cloud Run.
- Experience with Config Connector and automated cloud security enforcement.
- Experience working in regulated enterprise or financial services environments.
