About The Role
In this role, you will help organizations across industries take control of their cloud spend by establishing FinOps as a business discipline. You will work within SoftServe’s FinOps practice, delivering structured client engagements that move from cost visibility and savings identification to full governance and operating model implementation.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Cloud spend and perform cost anomaly detection, investigation, and resolution across accounts and services
- Conduct root cause analysis on cost variances and unexpected spend spikes, providing actionable recommendations to engineering and business teams
- Identify and coordinate implementation of cost optimization opportunities including rightsizing, reserved instance planning, savings plans, and idle resource elimination
- Develop and maintain robust BI dashboards and reports to support chargeback, showback, and cost allocation visibility across teams and business units
- Leverage Cloud Cost Tools for cost tracking, tagging compliance, allocation reporting, and budget forecasting
- Ensure consistent tagging governance across Cloud resources to enable accurate cost distribution and chargeback
- Collaborate with Finance and Business teams to align cloud spend with budgets and forecasts
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data accuracy, quality, and availability.
- Document business requirements, process flows, and reporting specifications.
- Support ad‐hoc analysis and provide clear, concise data-driven recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver clear, executive-ready PowerPoint presentations summarizing cost trends, anomalies, optimization outcomes, and FinOps KPIs
- Support onboarding of new teams to DataBricks and other Cloud providers by providing cost estimates, sizing guidance, and tagging requirements
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Cost Management, or Cloud Analytics role
- Hands-on experience with AWS cost management tools (Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, Cost and Usage Reports), DataBricks , GCP
- SQL Proficiency for querying cost and usage datasets
- Advanced BI development skills — including data modeling and dashboard design
- Strong ability to build polished PowerPoint presentations for both technical and executive audiences
- Experience with cost anomaly detection and root cause analysis in complex, multi-cloud environments
- Solid understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Databricks on AWS, etc.) and their cost drivers, DataBricks and GCP
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with AWS, Databricks, GCP cost management and usage based charge back models
