In this role, you will work on customer-facing cloud and instrument software, as well as internal tools that support our in-house protein screening services. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with biologists and other stakeholders to define use-cases and requirements, translating those requirements into technical designs, implementing those designs in code, and writing tests to verify their correctness. - No prior knowledge of biology is necessary, but curiosity and an eagerness to learn is critical
- Are confident working across backend, frontend, dev-ops and QA
- Are ready to take ownership of code and keep it up-to-date with the latest best-practices
- Have a product mindset, with a track record of gathering requirements, owning features end to end, and working directly with key stakeholders to deliver the right outcome
- Have at least 5 years industry experience as a software engineer
- HTML, CSS and TypeScript or JavaScript
- A backend web framework (e.g. Micronaut, Spring)
- React or an equivalent frontend technology (e.g. Angular)
- Containerisation (e.g. Docker, Podman)
- Automated build and deployment pipelines
- REST and Websocket APIs
- Automated testing (e.g. JUnit, Mockito, pytest)
- Google Cloud or an equivalent cloud service provider (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Version control in Git
