Senior Software Engineer (Developer Tools)

Join Roblox as a Senior Software Engineer on the App Test team, where you will design, build, and scale tools and services that power the test automation lifecycle. You will work on foundational systems that enable engineers to efficiently author, select, execute, debug, maintain, and triage tests, while helping to evolve the platform toward an AI-native testing experience. Your work will help teams identify regressions earlier, improve release confidence, and deliver software faster without compromising quality.

- Automation and infrastructure experience: Experience building test automation frameworks, developer tools, distributed systems, CI/CD infrastructure, or other engineering platforms
- Cross-platform engineering: Experience developing or supporting systems across multiple platforms or environments, such as Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, or iOS
- Systems and architecture: Experience designing and evolving services or frameworks, with an understanding of scalability, reliability, observability, and operational excellence
- Software engineering experience: Experience designing, building, testing, and operating production software, with a track record of solving complex engineering problems in large codebases
- Ownership and collaboration: Ability to take ownership of projects, work effectively across teams, communicate technical decisions clearly, and deliver solutions that improve the experience of engineers who use your tools
- Programming fundamentals: Strong programming skills in C++, Python, Go, or another modern programming language, with an emphasis on writing maintainable, reliable, and well-tested code
- Experience with cross-platform test automation frameworks such as Appium, Selenium, or comparable tools, including mobile, desktop, or game testing
- Experience building CI/CD, release engineering, developer productivity, or internal platform systems
- Experience applying LLMs, agents, or other AI techniques to developer tools, including test authoring, intelligent test selection, test maintenance, failure analysis, or automated debugging
- Experience working with large-scale software development workflows and integrating automated quality checks into the development lifecycle
