About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis supporting a U.S. Government customer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the design and implementation of cloud-native infrastructure and build robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab. As a key member of our engineering team, you will bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring scalable, secure, and reliable software delivery. Your expertise will be instrumental in automating infrastructure using Terraform, deploying cloud-native environments, and enhancing developer workflows. The ideal candidate will bring strong scripting skills, experience with APIs and SDKs, and a proactive mindset to solve complex infrastructure challenges. This position provides a chance to work on mission-critical projects that have a tangible impact, surrounded by a team of talented and dedicated professionals.
Qualifications
- Active or reinstatable TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or 16 years of professional experience in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working independently and within team environments
- Proven expertise in infrastructure automation and cloud-native operations
Responsibilities
- Design, provision, and maintain scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) architectures utilizing Terraform
- Architect, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines within GitLab to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable software delivery
- Deploy, manage, and scale cloud-native environments using containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Partner with software engineering teams to streamline deployment processes, resolve pipeline bottlenecks, and enforce operational best practices
- Develop and enhance internal tooling using Python, OpenAPI specifications, and SDKs to improve developer experience
- Ensure security, compliance, and best practices are integrated into infrastructure and deployment workflows
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud and infrastructure performance
- Stay current with emerging DevOps tools, technologies, and industry trends to recommend improvements
