Software Engineer (Infrastructure/Service Mesh)

Join Salesforce, the #1 AI CRM, as a Software Engineer specializing in Infrastructure/Service Mesh. In this role, you will build a scalable Ingress Gateway load balancing and proxy platform, drive the design and implementation of the next-generation Ingress Gateway control and data planes, and contribute to open-source projects like Envoy and Istio. You will need a strong understanding of network technologies and experience in designing, developing, debugging, and operating resilient distributed systems.

- Familiar with public cloud, particularly AWS and GCP
- Experience designing, developing, debugging, and operating resilient distributed systems across thousands of compute nodes in multiple data centers
- Experience balancing live-site management, feature delivery, and technical debt retirement
- Good knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS termination, HTTP proxies)
- Experience and passion for service ownership, building reliable/self-healing services
- Ability to quickly learn the technical stack. This includes understanding OSS service mesh technologies (e.g. Envoy, Istio, NGINX), kubernetes, helm charts, spinnaker, load balancing, security groups
