Senior Data Engineer – Data Warehouse & Big Data
About the Opportunity
This role focuses on the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data warehouse and data processing systems. The engineer will work across data modeling, pipeline development, data governance, and platform reliability while supporting data needs across multiple business functions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop data warehouse systems, including layered data modeling, data pipelines, and data governance.
- Build reliable and scalable data infrastructure to support data accuracy, consistency, and operational stability.
- Translate business requirements into effective data models and data engineering solutions.
- Design and optimize data processing workflows for a variety of internal use cases.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams on system deployment, maintenance, and data-related initiatives.
- Support applicable data privacy and compliance requirements, including CCPA and GDPR.
- Contribute to improvements in data architecture, engineering standards, and platform reliability.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in data warehouse modeling and development.
- Experience with both batch and real-time data processing.
- Experience building or supporting large-scale data processing systems.
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Iceberg, Flink, or similar frameworks.
- Software development experience with Java, Scala, and/or Python.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable data solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with applicable data privacy requirements, including CCPA and GDPR.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $200,000–$400,000 per year, plus bonus and equity compensation.
Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
