The listing
- As a Java Developer you are co-responsible for building custom applications within our extensive IT landscape.
- Development takes place on both the backend (Spring/JEE) and the frontend side (HTML5/CSS3/Javascript/JSF/React/Angular).
- Together with the IT department you are responsible for the daily adjustments and expansions of our IT systems.
- In addition, you will work in small scrum team using the Agile methodologies.
- Besides the realization of our in-house systems, you are responsible for the roll-out of the application (release) as well as the operational support after going live.

You are an experienced developer with good communication skills. Your ambition to continue learn and contribute more in your field. You are used to work on serious applications in an informal atmosphere. You are good in your field and understand the principles of a healthy workload combined with fun and collegiality. In addition to hard work, you are also in for a drink. You are coachable and will work on your own development together with your team leader & architect. Also, you are comfortable coding more complex parts and around 50/60% of the time spending the other parts in leadership, mentoring, collaboration and alignment.

- 5+ years of professional experience in Java development, including experience in a senior or lead role
- You’re proactive. You don't need a manual; you see a problem and you start drafting a solution.
- You understand how microservices talk to each other, how to handle concurrency and how to design a database schema (PostgreSQL) that won't crawl under pressure.
- You don't consider a feature "done" until it’s tested and the quality gates are green.
- You can explain complex tech to a non-technical Product Manager without losing them and you can provide feedback to a dev in a way that helps them grow.
- Strong expertise in Java (17+), Spring (Boot), JEE, JPA and ORM frameworks
- Deep understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles and clean code
- Solid knowledge of software architecture and design patterns
- Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and API contracts
- Strong testing mindset with experience in JUnit, Mockito, REST-assured (and similar tools)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tooling (e.g. Maven, Git, Jenkins, Docker)
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Ability to write clean, scalable, concurrent, and maintainable code
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to influence and guide others
Nice to Have
- Experience with front-end technologies (JavaScript, React and/or Angular)
- Familiarity with Linux environments
- Experience working in distributed or multi-team environments

- Salary indication: €5,500 - €6,500
