The Opportunity
The Digital Services team brings together data, software and digital engineering expertise to help solve complex challenges across the built environment. Working alongside Arup’s multidisciplinary teams, we develop and apply digital solutions that improve how projects are designed, delivered and operated, helping our clients make better use of data and technology to achieve more sustainable and effective outcomes.
Our work spans areas including data engineering and analytics, software development, automation, digital platforms and emerging technologies. As a Graduate Digital Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with specialists across Digital Services and the wider Arup business, applying your technical skills to real-world projects while developing your experience in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.
- Design automation – improving Arup’s design and engineering processes based on existing business models with technologies, including Python to improve and automate workflows, while exploring and testing new methods to create outputs
- Software products – developing software products and platforms that support our new ways of working for Arup clients
- Contribute to projects that deliver high quality, pragmatic, advice and solutions to engineering, design and IT problems
- Collaborate with colleagues from around the globe on projects and research
- Design, develop & deliver applications to meet business needs that are related to build environment related projects
Is this role right for you?
For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
- An undergraduate or bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
- Relevant disciplines include:
- Computer Science (inc. Cybersecurity); Data Science; Engineering; Mathematics
- Data Structures & Algorithms; Object-Oriented Programming; Software Engineering; Database Systems (SQL); Cloud Computing; Computer Networks; Cyber Security Fundamentals; Machine Learning; DevOps & CI/CD; Project Management; Automation; Mathematics; Data Analytics; Web Development
- Course work and/or academic project experience in some of the following areas or related areas: Computer Science/Engineering, Applications Development, Database Development, Software Architecture, Data Design, IoT
- Software development experience in at some of the following: Python, Java, SQL, NodeJs, JavaScript, React, Express.JS, TypeScript
- Requirements analysis; Software testing methodologies; Cloud service technologies including AWS and Azure
- Problem Solving; Purposeful Collaboration; Understanding Context;
