Platform Engineer (AWS / Kubernetes)
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to design, build and operate an enterprise-scale cloud platform on AWS. You will develop internal tools and frameworks that enable teams across multiple business units to deliver securely and efficiently, within a complex, distributed organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build internal platform tools and frameworks that standardise and automate cloud operations.
- Build and operate production-grade Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform at an advanced level.
- Architect AWS-native solutions and integrate AWS services effectively.
- Support governance, compliance and security standards across the platform.
Essential skills and experience
- Proven platform engineering experience, including building internal tools and frameworks.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar language used for automation and tooling.
- Advanced Terraform experience that goes beyond basic resource provisioning.
- Production experience with Amazon EKS, including building and operating Kubernetes clusters.
- Deep knowledge of AWS-native architecture and integration across AWS services.
Desirable skills and experience
- Enterprise-scale experience across multiple business units and complex organisations.
- Governance and compliance experience.
- Change management experience in large, distributed organisations.
- Experience with AWS Organizations and multi-account strategies.
- Knowledge of AWS security, IAM and VPC design.
