Senior Software Engineer

Join Sony Interactive Entertainment, PlayStation as a Senior Software Engineer. You will be part of the DevNet team, responsible for modernizing and enhancing our web portal used by developers worldwide. The ideal candidate has experience in large web projects, agile SCRUM teams, and a desire to move into a leadership position. Responsibilities include developing and supporting a large-scale web application, building new cloud-based services, creating high-quality front-end experiences, and collaborating with engineers and stakeholders across international locations.

- Experience working collaboratively in an agile engineering team
- The ability to break down complex technical problems into clear, maintainable solutions
- A flexible, pragmatic approach and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Experience with, or an interest in working with, Go and TypeScript
- A solid understanding of web application architecture, APIs and web services
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Experience with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience developing or supporting large, mature web applications
- Experience using Git or another version-control system
- Proficiency in at least one back-end programming language
- Familiarity with PHP and a willingness to work with an established PHP platform while helping modernise it
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Product, UX and DevOps colleagues
- For the senior position, experience leading technical discussions, mentoring engineers and contributing to technical direction
- Strong professional experience in full-stack web development
- Experience developing or operating services on AWS
- Experience with Go, TypeScript or Python
- Proficiency in Unix or Linux-based environments
- Experience working in Scrum, Kanban or SAFe environments
- Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience
