Senior Java Engineer – Financial Services
London – Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)
Are you a strong, hands-on Java Engineer with experience building complex, high-performance systems within Banking or Financial Services?
We're hiring on behalf of a leading FinTech consultancy that designs and delivers business-critical technology for some of the world's largest banks and financial institutions.
We're looking for experienced Java Engineers from across the Financial Services market. You could come from Payments, Banking, Cards, Merchant Acquiring, Trading, Capital Markets, Investment Banking or another high-volume financial environment.
You don't need to be a payments specialist - the most important thing is your Java engineering capability.
You'll join a highly skilled engineering team working on complex, distributed and event-driven platforms where performance, resilience, scalability and correctness really matter.
This is a hands-on engineering position, but you'll also have the opportunity to work closely with architects and client teams, understand complex requirements and take solutions through the wider delivery lifecycle into production.
What you'll be doing
What we're looking for
Technical strength is particularly important. We're looking for engineers who have a strong understanding of Java fundamentals and software engineering principles, rather than simply having worked within a Java-based environment.
Ideally, you'll have:
Previous payments experience is useful, but isn't essential.
If you've spent your career solving difficult engineering problems within Financial Services, we'd like to hear from you.
What's on offer
If you're a strong Java Engineer from a Financial Services background and enjoy solving complex problems across distributed and event-driven systems, we'd love to hear from you.
You don't need to tick every box and you don't need to be a payments specialist. If you're strong technically, particularly across Java, Spring and distributed systems, we're keen to talk.
