Imperix is a leading provider of control and prototyping solutions for power electronics. Founded in 2013 as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), the company develops and commercializes prototyping and test equipment for power electronics, electric drives, smart grids, and related fields. Our products are designed to accelerate the implementation of power converter prototypes and facilitate experimental activities in research laboratories. Our customer base includes both universities and industrial clients seeking to validate state-of-the-art control techniques or new power converter topologies. Today, over 90% of our sales are generated internationally across more than 50 countries.

At imperix, we are a young and dynamic team of approximately 35 people. We are located within a short walking distance of the train station in Sion.

Job description

This position sits at the crossroads between our software development team and our marketing team, and you will be attached to both. Your mission will be to develop and maintain the web and business applications that the whole company relies on every day: our website and online shop, our ERP, and a set of internal tools and data pipelines. Our website is built on WordPress, and WordPress is a large part of the job. In practice, you will spend a substantial share of your time on it, both developing custom features and regularly using the editor to update pages. The other major topic is our ERP, for which you will build reports, forms, and business intelligence tools that make your colleagues' work faster.

Beyond these two pillars, you will handle a variety of smaller topics: SEO, web analytics, server management, internal dashboards, and automation scripts. Priorities can shift quickly from one to another. This is not a role for someone who wants to specialize in a single technology, but rather for a curious and versatile developer who enjoys solving concrete problems for the people around them.

Responsibilities and main duties

• Develop and maintain our WordPress web platforms: custom plugins and themes, custom post types and fields, technical blog and knowledge base features.
• Update web pages, product settings, and pricing, and support colleagues who edit content.
• Create and adapt report templates, forms, and business intelligence reports in our ERP, including sales forecasts, and support colleagues with ERP-related requests.
• Maintain internal data pipelines and dashboards (PHP, Grafana) together with the software team, and provide colleagues with the statistics they need.
• Monitor SEO and analytics tools (Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs), handle redirections, and ensure new developments are SEO-friendly.

Requirements and qualifications

• Education and experience: BSc degree in computer science or a related field. Self-taught profiles with a strong portfolio will also be considered.
• Technical skills (hard requirements): Solid command of web technologies: PHP and WordPress in particular, as well as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Extra skills: Experience with an ERP or with reporting (BI tools), basic server administration, familiarity with SEO and web analytics tools, knowledge of French.
• Languages: Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Other languages are a plus.
